Mental health challenges are common and seeking Support & Growth is a sign of strength, courage and wellness. Emotional and behavioral problems affect all individuals regardless of age, income level, etc. A qualified mental health care provider helps you remove, change, or more skillfully cope with emotional issues, challenging behaviours, or stressful life situations.

Therapy may be a good choice for you if…

  • everything you feel is intense;
  • you have a history of trauma and can’t stop thinking about it;
  • you are finding it difficult to carry out daily activities: for ex. you’re getting bad feedback at work because you are unable to concentrate;
  • you using a substance to cope;
  • you feel disconnected from beloved activities;
  • your relationships are strained and your friends and family are concerned about you.

A therapist is an individual who has a combination of educational credentials and professional qualifications, and who is skilled in delivering treatment intended to resolve mental health and/or psychological challenges.

Support & Growth offers Canada’s largest network of culturally diverse therapists representing a number of different disciplines. Our licensed professionals speak several languages and represent a variety of cultures, ethnicities, religions, genders, and sexual orientations, making it easier for clients to receive support from a therapist with shared life experiences. Support & Growth therapists provide a culturally responsive approach to mental well-being that ensures all clients receive support from someone that sees them as an individual and understands their day-to-day challenges based on their similar life experiences.

Some common types of therapists include: Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, Registered Psychotherapists, Registered Marriage and Family Therapists, and Counsellor

Similar to “Psychotherapist”, “Counsellor” is an umbrella term for any professional who is trained to provide support and guidance on personal, social, or psychological challenges.
