It is often said, “The journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step,” and my utmost joy is being a small part of your personal journey.
I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, with both a Bachelors and Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor. With over 15 years experience in Social Services, including 10 years working in Child Welfare, I can confidently say that my passion to help others is unmeasurable. I take pride in my anti-oppressive approach as I strongly believe that this approach greatly adds a holistic component for enhancing the overall wellbeing of individuals and society. In addition, I specialize in various approaches to reaching your potential and growth, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, experiential therapy (through role play and other activities that fit our work together), use of humour and spirituality.

As a Christian, my belief helps me navigate through the world we live in, and we can explore which approach works best for you because each and every one of us is unique! My years of experience have sharpened my skills in working with individuals that are having challenges with parent-teen conflicts, relationship struggles, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, career/educational choices and many more. Marvin Gaye once said, “…ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough, ain’t no river wide enough…” and whatever your situation is, we can get through it together. Now, I bet you can’t get the song out of your head!
After immigrating to Canada at the age of 9, I endured countless obstacles such as; being bullied because of my skin colour, having difficulty adjusting to the Western educational system, language barriers, and struggling with acclimation in general. During my early years, I constantly gave in to peer pressure, even when I knew deep down that it was not right. I often relied on my sense of humour and athleticism for strength to escape some of these pressures. These and many other personal life experiences are what taught me about the power we all possess within. I am a strong believer that we all hold the master key to our happiness and with the approaches mentioned earlier and my sensitivity to cultural differences, we can work together to uncover what works best for you. If you ask me how I can support and contribute to your growth, I will tell you that “you can never change your past, but you can make your present dictate your future”.
