Are you a licensed therapist?
Yes, I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) providing psychotherapy. Social Workers are professionals who work with people of all ages to support everyday challenges that affect lives including mental health issues.
What should I do when I am in crisis?
Please contact 911, your family doctor or attend you nearest emergency room when in crisis and need immediate support.
Why should I choose therapy?
Therapy may be a good choice for you if…
- everything you feel is intense;
- you have a history of trauma and can’t stop thinking about it;
- you are finding it difficult to carry out daily activities: for ex. you’re getting bad feedback at work because you are unable to concentrate;
- you using a substance to cope;
- you feel disconnected from beloved activities;
- your relationships are strained and your friends and family are concerned about you.
What kind of issues/concerns can be supported through counselling?
Issues/concerns supported through counselling may include, but not limited to:
- Depression, anxiety, mood, anger
- Relationships (Common-law, family, stepfamily)
- Intimate relationships
- Abuse/domestic violence
- Youth offender
- Transitions/life changes
- Substance/alcohol abuse
What are your fees?
Fees are usually based on a 45-minute to 50-minute session. Please contact me for a free consultation so we can discuss rates, insurance, and length of service.
Do you have a sliding-scale fee policy?
Yes, based on need, sliding scale sessions are offered.
Where is the therapist located?
Support and Growth has access to various counselling spaces and offers appointments in downtown Toronto [central], Mississauga, Peel [Square One], and Oakville, Halton [South]. Please contact me to discuss the best location for services.
Are services confidential?
Yes, services are confidential. We respect your right to privacy and confidentiality. Social workers are bound by a code of ethics and will keep the information you share strictly confidential, sharing only with your consent unless required to do so by law. More information about your rights to confidentiality will be shared in your first session.
