Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder characterized by an irrational fear of open spaces or the public. Usually, if a person suffers from agoraphobia, the person would have had a panic attack in an open space and then prefers to stay away from such spaces due to the fear of those panic attacks resurfacing once again. The places which agoraphobes tend to avoid the most are quiet public that are difficult to escape without notice such as churches and cinemas.
